It’s the Harmony That Makes the Difference

More and more young people are experiencing the excitement and thrill of making four part chords ring in the distinctive barbershop sound.

The British Association of Barbershop Singers has built a fantastic reputation for the high quality of education and training it offers. Being a registered charity it also provides grants, totaling several thousand pounds each year, to provide music education support.

Young people sing barbershop harmony too!

Change any perceptions about barbershop singing being old fashioned - this style of singing is exciting and challenging. Monkey Magic, shown above, are a superb young quartet who won gold at the recent UK championships. Now they are off to America to compete in the International competition. We are looking for new groups, quartets and individuals to try the barbershop experience for themselves. Hear some barbershop singing for yourself on YouTube.

If you fancy doing some unaccompanied harmonising, you can find out all you need to know by visiting our web site. You can join the National Barbershop Youth Chorus or even go to College for a weekend to learn more about barbershop harmony. If you are in a quartet or you can form one, you can even compete in the National Youth/Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Contest.
