Having grown up in the English choral tradition, and subsequently discovered a love for musical theatre, Boo finally encountered barbershop at the University of Bristol. She sang with and latterly directed The University of Bristol Barbershop Singers (TUBBS), whom she took to the European Barbershop Convention as special guests. As the national youth co-ordinator for LABBS from 2015 - 2019, she founded an 'over 18s youth chorus', whom she directed to win the LABBS Small Chorus trophy twice, while also directing the main youth chorus, containing singers as young as seven. Boo has won national gold medals with 2018 LABBS champion quartet, Avalon; 2019 BABS Mixed chorus champions, A Kind of Magic and 2019 LABBS chorus champions, Amersham A Cappella, for whom she is also assistant director. She is Music Category Director for the BABS Contest and Judging Team, and was fortunate that this afforded her the opportunity to attend BHS Category School in 2019. When not singing, directing or coaching, Boo teaches secondary school science.
