Zac Booles Expand Now a 20yr barbershopper, Zac is an active coach and arranger within BABS, LABBS and SAI Region 31. He has two BABS quartet gold medals with Monkey Magic (2008, Lead) and The Locksmiths (2018, Baritone). The former director of The Grand Central Chorus, Zac now directs the Belper based SAI Region 31 chorus, Ignite UK.
Tim Briggs Expand Tim has been singing barbershop for over 18 years and has been working with the Harmony College Faculty for 10. He has a passion for helping people ring chords and deliver believable performances. Having sung in a variety of quartets and choruses, Tim is confident in working with all types of barbershop ensembles, single gendered or mixed.
Simon Lubkowski Expand Simon is an experienced award winning Chorus Director (Lux A Cappella and Tuxedo Junction), Quartet Champion (The Locksmiths), Chorus Champion (Hallmark of Harmony) Qualified BABS Singing Judge, International Barbershop Educator (working with Holland Harmony, SABS, IABS), Arranger and Composer, as well as the BABS Barbershopper of the Year 2019 and finalist for the BHS International Barbershopper of the Year. Simon has also acted as a faculty member for previous BABS Harmony Colleges, composing an original piece ""What A Time"" for use with the College Chorus in 2022. Outside of Barbershop Simon is a Choral Director for no less than 8 in person Choirs/Choruses, leads the Online Virtual Choir ""The Collective"", works for Leicestershire Music Hub as a Voice/Singing Music Leader, teaches Private singing lessons and works in schools teaching Music and Music Technology. He also has 4 children and a very patient wife…
Seb Marshall Expand Seb has two degrees in Music and is a professional self-employed musician. He is the Assistant Musical Director of Hallmark of Harmony and in the past has been Musical Director of Mantunian Way (MUBS) and baritone section leader of Meantime Chorus. He also sings with 2018 BABS Youth Quartet Champions Northern Quarter, and has also coached many quartets and choruses.
Sean Bui (he/him) Expand Sean is an experienced conductor, composer, singer, and teacher with a background in music editing, having previously worked for Oxford University Press before focusing on a freelance musical career. Sean read Music at Royal Holloway University of London, where he received both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees. During this time, he joined the choir of The Royal Chapel, Windsor, subsequently becoming Composer in Residence in 2008 and Assistant Director of Music in 2009, positions he continues to hold today. In 2011, Sean took up his first directing position when he co-founded Quire Voices. Sean enjoys a varied career as a professional director, and is currently the Director of The Knights of Harmony, The Royal Harmonics, Laudamus Chamber Choir, Spelthorne Choral Society, and West Sussex Philharmonic Choir, as well as Quire Voices. He is also in great demand as a directing coach, choral clinician, and singing coach, working with choirs throughout the United Kingdom Sean is in great demand as both a composer and arranger and has been published by the Royal School of Church Music. Recent commissions include ‘I will go in the strength of the Lord’, ‘Let my prayer come up’, and ‘Prayer of Saint Columba’. As a professional singer and singing teacher, Sean has a keen interest in vocal technique and has completed training with Janice Chapman and Dr Ron Morris at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He currently offers private tuition and has also given lectures on vocal pedagogy for the British Association of Barbershop Singers. Sean’s past solo performances include Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ and ‘Great Mass in C minor’.
Rod Butcher Expand Rod is a forty five-year member of BABS and a founder member of the West Midlands Barbershop Harmony Club. He has sung tenor in six quartets: Chime Gentlemen (1981 Silver), Back in Time (1988/89 finalists), Curtain Call (1990 Champions), Sound Assembly (1994 Champions), Pitch Invasion (2006 Champions) and currently One Foot in the Stave the 2022 BHS International Senior Champions – he doesn’t regret having to get old for this. Over the years he has been Music Director of the four choruses – men, women, mixed and the British Quartets Champion Chorus (BQC). Rod was a Judge for thirty-nine years and now enjoys Judge Emeritus status. He has a passion for coaching and has been privileged to coach at all levels in BABS. Rod is Barbershop's slowest-learner and has been to all but one BABS Harmony College. He is delighted to be involved again this year. Other passions include the jazz guitar and listening to the Great American Songbook. He lives in Birmingham with his long-suffering wife Chris and is well-retired but still claims to be only 28!
Chris Langworthy Expand Born in Mid Wales, Chris read Music at the University of Manchester. His quartet, Tagline, are the 2015 British Association of Barbershop Singers Quartet Champions and the 2018 International Youth Quartet Silver Medallists. They have recorded an album, an EP and a music video; appeared on ITV’s Britain’s Got More Talent (as guests) and Don’t Hate The Playaz; and have also been featured on radio adverts and e-greetings cards. Chris is a pianist, conductor, composer, singer, arranger and (occasionally) a bassoonist. He is a first-study pianist and, in 2015, won first prize in the piano accompaniment category in the National Eisteddfod of Wales. His arrangements have been sung by Tagline on the national stage, and he is proud to be a coach for choruses and quartets across the country including Limelight, Hot Ticket and Vocal Fusion A Cappella. He is delighted to have been one of the hosts for the recent BABS Live! broadcasts, and to give back to an association that has given so much to him. When he is not barbershopping, Chris is Assistant Director of Music and Head of Academic Music at Lancing College in West Sussex where, amongst other pursuits, he directs his own a cappella group. In September 2023, he will become Director of Music at a school in London.
