Good evening,

You're receiving this email because you're about to have one of the greatest weekends of your year so far - the Sing2026 BABS Convention!

It doesn't matter if you're a first-timer or counting conventions in decades, and whether you're on stage several times over the weekend or just coming to watch, hopefully this email will be useful to you.

We've started this with information that's good for all attendees to know, and then added some additional information for competitors at the bottom.

As ever, if you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Information for Everyone

This is info that everyone who is attending the event - useful for first timers, and a good refresher for returners.

Tickets

There are no physical or digital tickets that have been sent out for this event - attendees are checked off by our reception team and then given a registration pass.

When you arrive, just give them your name and provided you're on the list, you'll get a pass - you should display this pass at all times when inside the Convention Venue.

If you know of anyone who still wants to purchase tickets, they are able to do so directly on the door.

Bag Drop/Cloakroom

Due to additional costs that would be incurred for us to comply with Martyn's Law there will be no bag drop or Cloakroom facilities at Sing2026. All bags brought into the venue will also be subject to search.

Should you wish to store items we recommend checking with your accommodation, or alternatively, using Stasher to find a suitable place that will store items for a modest fee.

In-Auditorium Conduct

You will be reminded of this at several points during the day, but please ensure that your phone is at least set to silent  when you are in the auditorium. If you're someone who has alarms or reminders set throughout the day please also turn these off as these are worst offenders!

No photography or filming is to take place within the auditorium, and the only singing that should be heard is that which is coming from the stage.

Furthermore, everyone who crosses the stage over the weekend has put in a heck of a lot of effort to be there, so please give every group your full support with big cheers, hoops and hollers, and a huge round of applause.

Who's Up - for figuring out who is up next!

BABS will be using the Who's Up Platform this year, which is a great app that tells who is currently on stage, who is up next, and if the contest is currently running to time.

If you are available at all to help out with this (very little training required) please reach out and let us know and we'll connect you to the right people!

Kindness costs nothing

There will be a number of people helping to run the event this weekend, the majority of which will be BABS volunteers. As my mum often said to me as a kid - "If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!"

Please treat all our volunteers, venue staff, and of course each other, with respect and kindness at all times.

Other Information and FAQs

The Sing2026 page of our website contains a lot of other useful information, so please do take a gander there.

If you can't find what you're looking for, please do reach out to the team!

For BABS Members

There's a couple of extra bits that might interest BABS Members too.

Bag yourself a BABS Banner

We're having a clear-out of our central storage and we've got a lot of old roller banner that we're not going use anymore - and we're wondering if any of you would like one?

Do you want the banner from the convention where your ensemble won a medal? Or from the Harmony College where your quartet sang together for the first time? Well now's your chance.

The banners will be up in Hall D at some point of the weekend, and please do feel free to take one (or several). If you'd like to make a donation, we'd appreciate that too!

Results and Scoresheets

Results and Scoresheets will be added to the website as soon as possible, but please remember this one rule - asking for them won't make it happen any faster!
