Boo de Bruin, Music Judge Boo began her barbershop journey singing with and latterly directing The University of Bristol Barbershop Singers (TUBBS). For four years she served as the LABBS Youth Co-ordinator, directing the existing chorus as well as forming a second youth chorus for over-18 singers, and directing them to win the Phoenix Small Chorus trophy twice. She sings tenor with 2018 LABBS champion quartet Avalon; 2019 BABS Mixed chorus champions A Kind of Magic and 2019 LABBS chorus champions Amersham A Cappella, for whom she is also a member of the music team. She also arranges and makes teach tracks. She is a certified judge in the Music category and will follow Helen Tipping as category director. Outside of barbershop, Boo also loves musical theatre and folk music, and works as a science teacher in Berkshire, where she lives with husband Alex (also a Music judge!)
