Chantel Parsons, Performance Judge [email protected] Chantel is a third generation barbershopper, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandfather. She is currently the lead of Muddy Stilettos quartet, who were the quartet champions for SAI Region 31 in 2022. Her first quartet was the Sirens when she was attending the United States Naval Academy. She then went on to earn a BM in Choral Music Education (with a Dance Minor) from George Mason University in 2008 and taught high school choir, musical theatre, guitar, piano and music theory. Her students have gone on to perform in Las Vegas, on Broadway in Miss Saigon and with the Virginia Opera. Chantel was active in both the Mid-Atlantic District of BHS and Blue Ridge Region 14 of Sweet Adelines. She sung with the Vienna Falls chorus at the SAI International Competitions in Nashville, Houston and Honolulu. Her quartet, See Jane Sing! was active with veterans groups around the Washington DC area, and specialised in classic vintage close harmony with period costumes and high energy dance routines. She also directed the Arlintones men’s chorus before leaving for the UK. Since arriving in the UK, Chantel has been singing with Viva Acappella and has competeted in Las Vegas and New Orleans for the SAI International Contests. Her former quartet, Dolce Vita also placed 7th in LABBS their first contest. She is a member of Viva’s performance team, and also makes learning tracks for women’s groups around the UK. She is currently working for the NHS mental health trust in Kent, and pursuing a master’s degree in music therapy. Manage Cookie Preferences
