Purchase Tickets Here (from 16th June)

There are three streams to choose from at this year’s Harmony College. You can view the introductory video with a little more information here.  More detail on each stream can be found below.

Individual Stream

If you want to learn more about barbershop singing, this is the place for you! There will be a variety of classes on offer covering a wide range of topics: arranging, vocal pedagogy, acting through song and many more!

You will also have optional classes to do more chorus singing based on your chorus choices. More information below:

Ensemble Stream

If you sing in an existing ensemble and would like a weekend of coaching from excellent educators, this is the stream for you and your ensemble!

You may also have the opportunity to be coached under glass in front of other attendees by a variety of educators. Information about this will be released at a later date and will be available on a first come first served basis.

Extreme Quartets Stream

You must fill out the pre-enrolment form before purchasing tickets for this stream.

Do you want to sing in numerous quartet formations and then take part in the Saturday afternoon contest with a randomly-drawn quartet and song set? Would you like to receive high quality coaching across all 3 judging categories to help you maximise your score?

The EQ stream is open to anyone, regardless of experience, who is able to dedicate the time to learn 6 songs to a high-degree of accuracy. For the 10th EQ stream at BABS Harmony College, we have increased the educational element and chosen 6 amazing songs for everyone to enjoy!

If you would like to take part, please fill in the pre-enrolment form here (no payment required) and your application will be reviewed and you will receive a response within 48 hours.

If you are not offered a place initially, you could be given the chance to be an 'EQ Reserve'. This would mean you would enrol for the 'individual Stream' but still learn the 6 EQ songs - you could then be called up to the EQ Stream at a later date.

Songs this year include 'Mr Blue Sky', 'It's A Lovely Day Today', 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' and 'Keeping The Dream Alive'.

Note: Pre-event recordings will be required for some delegates and a non-refundable £25 EQ music package supplement will apply for all.

Choruses

New this year: Choruses are for everyone across all streams!

Choruses will take place in what were previously the ‘Breakout Sessions.’ There will still be other breakout sessions available for those that don’t want to sing in a chorus.

For those that want to do more work on their chorus songs, there will be optional chorus sessions available throughout the weekend with different members of the Individual Stream Faculty.

Breakouts will be split into A and B. There will be 6 hour-long breakouts over the weekend (3 for A, 3 for B). There will also be optional sessions as part of the individual stream to do more chorus singing. Each session will have a different focus to help you get more out of the song. The Auditioned Chorus (TTBB) will run across both A and B.

Extreme Quartet attendees will only be able to do the Breakout A options as more time is required across the weekend for the EQ programme.

  • A only choruses: Upper Voices (SSAA) and Lower Voices (TTBB)
  • B only choruses: Youth (SATB) and All Voices (SATB)
  • Auditioned: Anthony Colosimo, Smilin’ Through
  • Upper Voices: Zac Booles, Dancing In The Dark
  • Lower Voices: Christopher Langworthy, Bare Necessities
  • Youth: Tim Briggs, Can’t Help Falling In Love
  • All Voices: Sean Bui, Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)

Music for the choruses will be released to attendees by the start of July. You will receive the link to materials in your ticket email.

Music for the Auditioned Chorus is available on purchase of a ticket and auditions must be completed by the end of July. We aim to give audition results by the end of July; however, this is dependent on the number of auditions we receive. Parts will be chosen to get a good balance with a maximum number of spaces available on each part. These will be given on a first come first served basis for those that pass the audition. To audition, you must record a short section of the song (materials provided on purchase); a link to the form will be provided in your purchase email. If you have any difficulties with this process, please contact auditionchorus@singbarbershop.com
