As the daughter of barbershop member Roy Caval, who joined Hallmark of Harmony in 1981, Julie's barbershop journey began shortly after attending conventions, prelims and shows in support of both her father and the chorus. In the presiding 40 years she has made some wonderful friends along the way and it has become something of a family affair, as both her husband and two sons, have all spent time on the risers and as couriers.

Julie joined the courier team in 1990 as team manager, a role that is indispensable to the running of every event, so she has been telling you all where to go (in the best possible sense) for the last 30 years! Having handed the reigns of courier team manager over to her eldest son, she is now ready for a new challenge!

Away from barbershop, she is always keen to face and overcome the demands of new and challenging roles, and since 2003 she has been a fully commissioned RAF officer running a Squadron of 70 air cadets and 17 staff. Having gained the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal, Long Service Medal and Meritorious Service Awards along the way she is currently looking to take further promotion as a Wing Staff Officer. Before giving up full time work in 2012 to look after her father, Julie worked as a training team manager for The British Red Cross.

Julie is really looking forward working as Events Manager in the BABS Events Team.
