BABS Learn!

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new initiative BABS Learn!

BABS Learn! is a series of free-to-attend classes and discussions and is open to everyone, whether you’re a BABS member, part of another barbershop organisation or simply anyone looking to learn a little more about singing.

Mark Soave

Mark has been singing barbershop for 12 years. He found Grand Central Chorus at his first convention in Southport 2012 when they stormed to their fifth British Chorus Gold medal. When he moved to Nottingham that summer for further university studies he immediately looked to join Grand Central. In his day job, Mark is a research scientist at the University of Nottingham, working on pharmaceuticals to understand how new medicines work at the cellular level. Mark has been a member of the Music Team at Grand Central for several years, having served as baritone section leader. When Zac Booles announced that he would be stepping down from his role as musical director in 2020, Mark and Richard Curtis began to formulate a plan of musical partnership for the future. The two together would play off each other’s strengths to further improve the chorus’ standing in the world of barbershop, and to share our music with audiences all over the country.
