Mike has been a BABS member for 26 years. During this time he has sung with Harpenden, Reading and now with Bournemouth. He has also sung in quartet with Chordination and Half Eight. He entered competition with both quartets and came 15th with Half Eight in 2018.

From 2000 to 2010 he was Director of Education and Music Services and among a multitude of tasks, started Directors College to train new Chorus Directors and encourage more established Directors.

He retired from the board in 2010 and continued running the Harmony Store until that closed down in 2019.

As Music Advice Service Manager his aim is to assist all choruses and quartets find suitable music and to legalise all music they use. This includes supplying copies of music for review along with tracks to help in that process.

Over the past 10 years he has set up contacts and systems with all UK suppliers of copyright and in 2018 became the point of contact for all Barbershop groups in the UK, buying rights from Hal Leonard Europe.

In addition he has established useful contacts with arrangers and learning track makers around the world.

He lives with his wife, Sue, in peaceful Dorchester which puts them close to their sons and their families in Bristol and Bournemouth.
