Sing 2021 Update

Due to the current uncertainty over the future regulation of freedom of movement and assembly, which seem likely to prevail for some time, and the roll out of the vaccine, along with the restrictions placed on in-person rehearsals, it is with regret that we announce that the May 2021 Convention, Sing 2021, will not be going ahead. We have arrived at an agreement with Bournemouth, which postpones the May 2021 Convention to May 2023. Our next Convention, Sing 2022, will take place in Harrogate.

For competitors, the slate will be wiped clean for 2022 and we will start the process afresh at QuartetCon 2021. The Contest and Judging Team will be in touch with all competitors to go through the process.

All those people who chose to roll forward their registrations and show tickets from 2020 to 2021 will be contacted offering them a full refund or to donate the value of their purchase to BABS, the charity.

The board wants to thank all our members for their patience and support with this situation. We are heartbroken that it has been necessary to make this decision, and do not underestimate the disappointment that this will cause but, as always, we needed to put the health and well-being of our membership and the Association first.

Sing 2022 Update

As you know the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has meant that the bank holiday dates at the end of May have been moved and will be on a Thursday and Friday rather than Friday and Monday. Due to this, we have moved our 2022 convention dates to the 29th April to 1st May 2022.

Watch this space for announcements about our Special Guests for our 2022 and 2023 conventions.

2021 Schedule of Events Update

We are delighted to announce we will continue our online programme throughout 2021 enabling us to bring you harmony in a variety of ways. We are putting together a full programme of events but we are excited to tell you we have already planned many in, including Directors’ Academy Online in January, another BABS Learn, an Online Convention (which is looking very exciting and we will be giving you more information shortly) along with Harmony College and QuartetCon later in the year. We are also investigating ways we can get an in-person event during the summer, as we know everybody is so keen to get back together. We will release more information during the first few months of 2021 so people can get those diaries filled in.

We look forward to announcing our plans for next year and seeing you, virtually and in person, very soon.
