SING2024 Announcement SING2024 ANNOUNCEMENT 2024 will mark the 50th anniversary of BABS, and we plan to mark the occasion with an extra special convention where we will celebrate the best of British barbershop. With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that all entrants into the 2024 National Quartet Contest will be joining us on the contest stage at the semi-final round in May 2024. In other words, we will not be holding a preliminary round of our National Quartet Contest, and will instead have a much larger field of contestants in the semi-final round. Our National Seniors and Youth Quartet Contest and qualification for the International Seniors Contest in January 2025 will also take place at Sing2024. In an occasion that will celebrate the breadth of British Barbershop talent, the increased contest excitement will add to the party atmosphere for our landmark anniversary year, and staging the competition in this way means everyone has the chance to participate in the celebration. This does mean that we will not be holding QuartetCon in November 2023 as the preliminary round will no longer be required. Removing QuartetCon from the calendar in 2023 will also mean that there is no clash with LABBS’ autumn convention and will grant our members a valuable free weekend and hopefully encourage greater attendance to both conventions. Due to this, qualification for the International Quartet Contest in July 2024 will now take place at Sing2023. If you intend to qualify for the International Quartet Contest in July 2024, please contact the Contest Admin Manager by the end of February: [email protected]. We are still putting together the programme for Sing2024 and we hope to release the draft timetable for the weekend soon. For the time being, please prepare for an earlier start on the Friday. We will be announcing many things over the upcoming months and the big launch will take place at Sing2023 so please keep a look out to see what we are planning at Sing2024.
