Welcome to the BABS Youth Project, a nationwide open gender barbershop chorus open to individuals aged 7-30 (inclusive), aiming to build a youth community of barbershop singers across the UK to spread the joy of barbershop singing.
Who is it for?
We welcome anyone aged 7-30 (inclusive) regardless of singing or barbershop experience. In sessions we will be covering everything from the basics of singing and the barbershop style through to higher-level singing techniques and specific nuances within the barbershop style. Whether you’re an experienced singer or a complete beginner, barbershop is accessible to all, with no need for formal musical training.
What’s Happening this Year?
We will be hosting weekend events throughout the year on the following dates:

3. Saturday 24th October
4. Saturday 28th November
5. Saturday 23rd January
6. Saturday 27th February
7. Saturday 27th March
8. Saturday 1st May
9. Sunday 2nd May
Membership of the chorus from October 2026 to October 2027 will be £25 and will include all learning materials to be involved. Attendance for Saturday 23rd August and Sunday 27th September will be £5 for the two dates together.
