Peter was introduced to barbershop singing in 1999 when he joined Thames Valley Chorus where he was on the music team and served as Chairman for a period. In 2009 work took him to Manchester for three and a half years when he joined the Cottontown Chorus, singing with them at Convention and International. In 2013 he returned to Berkshire and rejoined Thames Valley Chorus as their Music Director for a year. Concurrently he took up the position of Music Director of LABBS chorus Harmony Inspires who he directed for 7 years. He served on the board of BABS as Vice Chairman (2015-2016), then Chairman (2017-2018).

In 2019 he commenced a part time PhD at the University of York researching the acoustic characteristics of the barbershop sound. If all goes to plan he will start writing up in April 2024 and then hopefully share his findings with the barbershop community.

As a Non Executive Director his aim is to draw on his business experience to contribute to the management and strategic direction of the Association.
