Sam Hubbard, Music Judge [email protected] Sam discovered barbershop accidentally while surfing YouTube at the age of thirteen. The barbershop bug bit hard, and he became besotted with the style as a teenager, getting involved with the wider barbershop community when he was introduced to BABS in his final year of school. Sam is a certified judge in the Music category. He is active in barbershop as an arranger, as a member of Hallmark of Harmony, and as a quartet singer, singing tenor in The Shimmering Bonsai Boys and baritone in The Sharrow Vale Blues. Most importantly though, he can often be found teaching and singing tags at 3 in the morning in convention stairwells. Sam graduated from the University of Leeds in 2017 with a joint-honours degree in mathematics and music. He finds a lot of enjoyment in educating, and has taught classes at BABS Harmony College on Music Theory. The jury is still out on the Harmony College Calculus Course though, which is yet to receive approval. Outside of Barbershopland, Sam has been an active choral singer for most of his life, currently performing and recording with professional chamber choir, Borealis. He is a keen runner, sci-fi fan, and has a day job in the hydrogen industry. Manage Cookie Preferences
